Just as a forewarning for those who have read the book by Diana Wynne Jones, it is very different, so go in treating this as an entirely different entity and try not to compare it too much to the book. There are scenes of fire enveloping the houses that have been hit by bombs and a brief one where Howl comes down half-naked with a towel at his waist, but other than this I would say it’s appropriate for everyone! Please watch this, you won’t regret it! Just relax and be transported and you will love it! ![]() Although Howl, is the powerful magician, who does do a bit of saving, Sophie is headstrong and is unaffected by anything coming her way, ultimately she is the protagonist and saviour of the story who has feminist and strong attributes. The characters are people you can connect with and feel like real, tangible people. The story is incredibly imaginative, added to by an enchanting score and beautifully stunning animations. My friend recommended the film to me, and not being that much of an anime fan, I put it off for quite a while, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found that I really liked it.
